Gundrilling
Surface Grinding is a major part of the tool building
process. The large surface grinders are located in the
bay with cranes and tractor-trailer access. All type of metal can
be surface ground to customer's tolerances and shape requirements.
Internal and external grinding is also available in a small to medium size range.
A total of 13 late model surface grinders, wet and dry, make up our tool room type grinding department. With all the fixtures and support tooling for grinding. The process of building die components is totally controlled here from start to finish.
This department also houses grinders for sharpening most of the tooling used daily in our machine tools. There are also three late model Deckel grinders to make custom cutters required to cut cores, cavities, and electrodes.

With the addition of a Taurus CNC Gundrill that has been
added to the 25 ton bay, preciese and deep hole drilling can now be offered
"in house."
